Construction of the GLO Marine Technology Centre continues to advance, with piping prefabrication set to become one of the facility's core manufacturing capabilities.
Once operational, the Technology Centre will enable the fabrication of carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping systems directly from our engineering deliverables, supporting vessel retrofit, conversion, offshore, and energy transition projects.
Manufacturing piping systems in-house will improve coordination between engineering, production, and quality control while enabling the delivery of installation-ready piping packages. Producing piping spools under controlled workshop conditions enhances dimensional accuracy, traceability, inspection, and testing before delivery to the vessel, reducing onboard fabrication requirements and supporting more efficient installation.
Piping prefabrication plays a key role in a wide range of vessel upgrade projects, including machinery modifications, offshore equipment integration, hydraulic systems, energy efficiency upgrades, and decarbonisation technologies. Integrating this capability within the Technology Centre will further strengthen our integrated delivery model by bringing engineering, fabrication, and project execution closer together.
The addition of in-house piping prefabrication forms part of our broader investment in expanding engineering and manufacturing capabilities. By combining engineering, fabrication, procurement, and installation within one organisation, we continue to provide clients with greater project coordination, improved quality control, and more predictable project execution.
As construction progresses, additional capabilities of the Technology Centre will continue to be introduced, further strengthening our ability to deliver integrated vessel retrofit and offshore engineering solutions.
