GLO Marine is proud to announce that we have been awarded the “Decarbonization Technical Specialist of the Year” at the Green Shipping Summit 2026 in Athens.

This recognition reflects our continuous efforts over the past years to become a trusted technical specialist in green transition, decarbonisation, and environmental solutions for vessels in operation. Our approach focuses on bridging the gap between shipowners and OEMs, supporting clients in defining the right strategy for their fleets, and contributing to the decision-making process with both technical and operational insight.

Beyond strategy, we actively support implementation by delivering integration and retrofit solutions onboard, ensuring that selected technologies are effectively applied in real operating conditions and deliver measurable results.

At the summit, our colleague Sören Scheid, Business Development Manager, delivered a presentation titled “A clear 3-stage framework for vessel decarbonisation – Case study on bulk carriers.” The session explored practical, compliance-driven upgrade pathways using a real vessel case study.

Two distinct scenarios were presented: a phased, cost-controlled approach designed to maintain regulatory compliance over time, and an early, high-impact strategy aimed at improving efficiency and long-term vessel value. By comparing these approaches, the session highlighted how investment timing directly influences fuel consumption, compliance risk, and operational performance.

Our participation at the summit further reinforces GLO MARINE’s role as a technical partner supporting shipowners throughout the entire decarbonisation journey, from strategy to implementation.

We would like to thank our team, partners, and clients for their continued trust and collaboration.
