GLO Marine has appointed Thomas Wittlin as Chief Executive Officer, effective Q2 2026. The appointment reflects the stage the company has reached — and the kind of leadership needed to take it further.

Thomas Wittlin brings more than 25 years of experience in the maritime industry, spanning shipyard operations, commercial strategy and international business development. He served for nearly eleven years as Sales Director at Grand Bahama Shipyard, one of the world's foremost dry dock and ship repair facilities, before building IMBC and Docking Partner into a global network representing 87 shipyards across international markets. His background gives him a clear understanding of how shipyards function, how vessel owners make decisions, and what sustained growth in this industry actually requires.

"

I have spent 25 years in this industry watching the gap between what clients need and what contractors can reliably deliver. GLO Marine is in a position to close that gap — and that is exactly what we are going to build.

His arrival coincides with several developments that together define this next phase for GLO Marine. A Board of Directors will be established in the coming months to strengthen governance as the company takes on projects of greater scale and complexity. The marine integration facility under construction in Galați, Romania — now past the halfway point — remains on schedule to open in January 2027, extending GLO Marine's ability to manage complex projects within a controlled, integrated environment.

The commercial focus is also evolving. GLO Marine is moving toward integrated EPCI delivery in the €3–10 million range, with regional expansion into the Middle East through partnerships with local yards. Each of these steps is part of a deliberate progression — building the capability and structure to deliver more demanding work, reliably and at scale.

"

Thomas brings exactly what this stage requires. He understands how shipyards and vessel owners think, and what it takes to grow a maritime business without losing delivery discipline. The leadership, governance and production infrastructure are now all being put in place — deliberately and in sequence.

Co-Founder and Commercial Director

The company's core purpose remains unchanged. GLO Marine exists to help vessel owners modernise their fleets, reduce emissions and extend the operational life of their ships. What is evolving is the scale and depth at which we are able to deliver on that — and the foundations we are putting in place to sustain it.
