Company summary

GLO Marine is an engineering and project delivery company serving the marine, offshore and energy industries. From its engineering and operational base in Romania, it brings technical design, equipment integration and site execution under clear project responsibility, taking responsibility for making the engineering, equipment and installation work together, from first survey to commissioning.

About the role

GLO Marine delivers vessel retrofits, VFD solutions and multidisciplinary engineering services for shipowners and operators worldwide. Our marketing brings in a steady flow of inbound enquiries, many from the UK, and we also work proactive outreach lists. Our sales engineers are busy with active projects. We need a technically minded person who makes sure every lead is contacted quickly, qualified properly, and moved forward.

You'll be the first technical conversation a prospect has with GLO Marine. You'll understand what they're trying to fix on their vessel, work out whether we're the right fit, and hand qualified opportunities to our sales team with everything they need to continue.

What you'll do
  • Contact inbound leads within the same business day. Enrich each lead with company, fleet, and decision-maker data from public sources.
  • Run discovery calls with superintendents, technical managers, fleet managers, and shipowners. Qualify them on need, vessel or fleet profile, timeline, budget and decision process.
  • Nurture leads that aren't ready yet with structured follow-up: calls, emails, LinkedIn, and relevant content such as case studies.
  • Run outbound sequences to targeted cold lists within our ideal customer profile.
  • Book qualified meetings for sales engineers, then hand over a written brief covering vessel details, pain points, stakeholders, and next steps.
  • Log every call, email, and meeting in Zoho CRM and keep lead stages, notes, and next actions accurate and up to date.
  • Clean up aged leads: re-engage them, disqualify them with a reason, or recycle them into nurture. No lead sits untouched.
  • Report weekly on lead volume, response times, conversion rates, and lead-source quality. Feed insights back to marketing regarding leads quality.

What you'll bring
  • A degree or equivalent experience in naval architecture, marine engineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical/automotive engineering.
  • 2-5 years of experience in either technical sales or business development in an engineering, industrial, or B2B company.
  • Enough technical depth to hold a credible first conversation about vessel systems, electrical/propulsion equipment, retrofits, or energy efficiency.
  • Fluent English, spoken and written (C1+), and comfortable phoning UK/ international contacts.
  • Experience with a CRM (Zoho, HubSpot, Salesforce) and a disciplined approach to data.
  • Comfortable handling volume (150+ leads per month) and prioritising.
  • Self-managing and reliable, technically curious, commercially minded, persistent, highly organized, proactive, and a confident relationship-builder. Good listener.

Personal profile
  • Knowledge of marine industry structure: owners, managers, class societies, shipyards.
  • Familiarity with VFDs, shaft generators, hybrid/battery systems, energy-saving devices, or regulations such as EEXI/CII.
  • An additional language (German, Dutch, Norwegian, Greek, Arabic)

What we offer
  • Competitive salary package and performance bonuses.
  • Meal vouchers and private health insurance.
  • Flexible work schedule and hybrid work options.
  • Modern work equipment (laptop, company phone).
  • Access to international projects and complex collaborations.
  • Opportunities for professional training and specialization.
