SHIP DESIGN
Our experienced design team covers the complete range of design services from concept studies, through complete design documentation, production drawings and procurement support.
We have hands-on comprehensive experience in vessel design for major international shipyards and different types of vessels, including cruise vessels, fishing vessels, supply vessels, tugs, barges.

Concept Design
The concept design stage transforms operational requirements into a real vessel, whilst satisfying all design limitations. These limitations are mainly driven by cost and can affect different design areas, such as main dimensions, speed, on-board comfort, cargo capacity, construction costs, modularity and future mobilisations.
Working in close co-operation with our client, we define the vessel’s main dimensions, hull form, general layout, main space allocation and seaworthiness. This provides the vessel owner with the confidence of a sound concept and enough data to assess the project’s technical and commercial feasibility.

Basic Design
The basic design stage transforms the vessel concept into a technically sound and safe to build vessel design. This is done by developing scantlings and stability calculations, system P&IDs and structural drawings in accordance with rules and regulations issued by the designated classification society, flag or other related authority.
We have made a strong point out building up our team with skilled engineers who have previously worked in the DNVGL’s Approval Centre, to ensure that we understand class requirements up to the most intimate detail. The result, speedier approval and fewer to none comments on our deliverables.

Detail Design
The technically sound vessel project resulted after completing the basic design stage, is now translated into production documentation based on the very specific standards and requirements put forward by the designated shipyard.
Approximately 90% of our detail design engineers have a track record of working in, at least, one major shipyard across Europe and, as a company, we have delivered designs in more than 10 different shipyard standards. Flexibility and openness to design changes is built-in our default way of work.
