Job summary 

At GLO Marine, courage drives us forward. We’re seeking a Project Manager who leads with vision and embraces projects that push boundaries. As the GLO Marine representative on end-to-end vessel retrofit and upgrade projects, you’ll oversee the full project lifecycle—from initiation through to closure—ensuring alignment with client expectations, regulatory standards, and GLO Marine’s commitment to excellence. Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate and oversee scope breakdown, scope changes, and variations, maintaining an updated change register to document impacts and root causes.
  • Negotiate and secure approval for project changes with the Customer and Director of Operations, ensuring only approved changes are implemented.
  • Identify and ensure compliance with all project-related requirements, including legal and regulatory standards, facilitating technical consensus within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Supervise the creation and maintenance of project budget and schedule baselines, including issuing project S-curve baselines and tracking variations.
  • Report weekly and monthly on scope, schedule, and cost status, escalating significant variances to the Director of Operations with recommended mitigation actions.
  • Conduct weekly project status reviews, issuing recommendations for project control in line with contractual and strategic requirements.
  • Maintain a consolidated project status report, detailing cost, schedule, and scope against plan; provide updates to senior management and the Customer as per contract terms.
  • Supervise document control activities, managing documentation flow with the customer, internal teams, and regulatory bodies.
  • Define and oversee the quality plan, coordinating quality checks and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure appropriately skilled personnel are assigned to the project, coordinating staffing needs, and recommending training when necessary.
  • Input weekly financial data for project revenue and cost, analyze gross margin, and make contractual recommendations to align with profitability targets.
  • Conduct project closure reviews, document lessons learned, and analyze key project aspects, including contract management and Customer relations, for future reference.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering, with a Master’s degree in Business Administration;
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience within a shipyard, a ship design company or a heavy industrial manufacturing company;
  • A minimum of 3 years project management experience in coordination of people teams in international environment ship building / design projects;
  • A minimum 5 years’ experience with an ISO 9001 registered company;
  • Solid understanding of project management philosophy;
  • Solid understanding of labour cost control, scheduling and labour estimating;
  • Sound knowledge of computer scheduling software Microsoft Project or Primavera;
  • Computer literacy in Word, Excel, Power Point;
  • Fluency in English, both in speaking and writing;
  • Good communicator and motivator;
